I received a phone call on Saturday, March 8th, while in route to my nephew's birthday
party.  The call was from the microchip company saying that they had a lady who had
found a puppy wandering the street close to her home and that it had a collar with the
microchip number and toll free number to call in case he was lost.  They had traced the
microchip number back to me as the breeder and if I could give them any information to
help find the owner of the puppy.

The representative from the microchip company gave me the name of the lady who had
found the puppy and her phone number.  I immediately called her upon receiving the
information.  She said she had the puppy in her home and would take care of him until the
puppy was reunited with his owner.

The moment I got back home I tried to contact the puppy owner by home phone, cell
phone, and both email addresses I had.  No response.  I called the lady who had found the
puppy and gave her the phone numbers I had and also gave her their name and address.
She immediately said, "They live right down the street."

I found out Tuesday morning, March 11th that the owners had an out of town emergency.
The puppy stays outside in their fenced yard during the day.  Another family member was to
pick up the puppy Saturday morning and take him to her house, before she could get there
the lawn mowing company showed up to cut the grass and did not properly secure the
gate.  The puppy got out and was wandering the street.   Luckily, they had requested that
he be micro-chipped.  They were so thankful to the lady who had found him and to me for
relaying their contact information.
